This is the second in a new series of review articles looking at Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software products. Each review takes the format of a walk-through using a simple structural example. The full capabilities of each product can’t be covered in a few pages, but I hope to give you a feel for the basic workflow required for each product.
Each of the reviews represent my independent assessment and I am not sponsored in any way by the companies developing the products. However, in many cases I am indebted to the companies for supplying temporary licenses to allow the reviews to be carried out
Introduction to Inspire
This month’s review looks at solidThinking Inspire 2018 from Altair. This is a structural optimization program which provides a complete workflow from geometry creation and/or manipulation, through FE analysis to topology optimization and geometry shape fitting of the resultant configuration.
